About (Information about the Department)
Art and crafts activities help to instil a sense of achievement and pride in children, boosting their self-confidence. The opportunity to create whatever a child desires helps foster creativity and moral development. A child will learn to make correct and effective decisions by facing and solving artistic challenges.
In these aspects, department of Art and Craft plays a very significant role in MDIC as an institution which emphasizes moral teachings more than textbook knowledge. The students practice art and craft as a compulsory subject up to class six. Also, O-level and A-level students can take this as an optional subject. The curriculums and syllabuses of the etiquette subjects are rich and well-designed, including all the necessary topics. In MDIC, students can learn calligraphy in Bangla, Arabic , and English languages as well, and it’s specially designed for the students of Manarat comprehensively, which no other school practices as part of the syllabus work.
In addition to academic subjects, the department also arranges cultural programs on different occasions. For teaching these subjects and holding different programs, the department has a number of highly qualified, committed, experienced teachers. They sincerely help the students learn about art and craft through the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness. Experiences in the arts boost critical thinking, teaching students to take the time to be more careful and thorough in how they observe the world.
Facilities (Facilities provided by the department)
The department provides the following facilities for the students:
a) Teaching art and craft up to class-6 compulsorily helps the students learn about all the important teachings of the realm of art, including craft in different ways, etc., which gives them an aesthetic idea of living an elegant way of life.
b) Offering O level Art and Design as an optional subject for the students of classes 9 and10. In previous years, students have secured good grades in this subject.
c) Providing highly qualified, committed, experienced and sincere teachers to improve the knowledge of the students.
d) Setting a comprehensive and well-designed syllabus gives the students a comprehensive idea of art.
