Target Beneficiaries: Adolescent girls ages 10-19 years in Sadar Upazila of Noakhali.
Objective / Goal: Adolescents and youth in Bhashan Char Island and Noakhali District are able to better express their rights and make informed choices about their bodies and lives.
The project focuses on:
- Providing life skills sessions for 4,500 adolescents (10-19) through Noakhali District schools.
- Organizing adolescent girls’ empowerment trainings through Kishori Resource Centre in Noakhali district (1,000).
- Supporting local government to develop a district plan to end child marriage.
- Conducting behavior change communication and outreach activities.
Major Activities
- Head Teacher Orientation from pre-selected 30 schools of Noakhali on GEMS.
- Training on Facilitation Skill Development.
- ToT on GEMS and Gender Module of life skills curriculum.
- Training on GEMS and ASRHR for 90 school and madrasah teachers.
- Adolescent Corner Establishment.
- Promotion of National Alapon Helpline.
- Local level advocacy with community stakeholders.
- Comprehensive Life Skill Education (CLSE) Training for Head Teachers in Noakhali district.
- Establishment of KRC.
- Life Skill Sessions with Adolescents at KRC.
- Parent sessions and Meet the Successful Parents.
- Couple Counseling sessions.
- Support/capacitate Local Govt. through SBCC to prevent child marriage.
- Conduction of GEMS sessions in the institutions.

- Training on ASRHR and First Aid in emergency for Adolescent Leaders and Youth Platform members.

Major Achievements
- Training on Gender Equity Movement in Schools (GEMS) was provided to 90 teachers from selected 30 Secondary Educational Institutions (25 Schools and 5 Madrasahs).
- A total of 30 Community Engagement meetings were held at 25 Schools and 5 Madrasahs with engagement of 942 participants (Male-479, Female-463).
- A total of 4,653 adolescents were given sessions on the GEMS curriculum by them and the project distributed 4500 GEMS diaries to the students.
- 30 Adolescent Corners were established and 305 (Male-107, Female-198) adolescent leaders were oriented on adolescent corner activities and ASRHR materials.
- To provide life skill-based education and to prevent child marriage, 5 Kishori Resource Centers (KRC) were established in different unions of Noakhali Sadar Upazila and 1,000 girls received 271 sessions.
- A total of 523 institutional heads received GEMS and ASRHR materials (CLSE) orientation from 9 Upazilas of Noakhali district.
- 10 meetings were arranged during Q4 with 100 (34 male, 66 female) parents of adolescent girls of KRC present.
- 749 adolescent leaders were formed in 30 institutions, and a day-long orientation on Adolescent Corner activities was conducted with 305 adolescent leaders (Male-107, Female-198).
