Muktabahini ambush 7/8 boats of Pakistani troops on Shalda River. Around 60 to 70 Pakistan soldiers sustain injuries and around four to five boats sink in the river, triggering a fierce gunfight. In retaliation, Pakistan occupation force kill four freedom fighters and injure another.

  • Z-Force of Sector -11 attack the Pakistani camp at Bahadurabad Ghat in Jamalpur with rocket launchers and grenades. The freedom fighters capture the camp after destroying the armory and office.
  • Military court asks Aminul Haque Badsha, press secretary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, to appear by 10:00am on August 6. Otherwise, the court decides to star trial in his absence.
  • Pakistan president Yahya Khan in a TV interview says if clashes continue in India-Pakistan border, it might turn into war.
  • Muslim League secretary ANM Yusuf urges all the leaders and activists to join Razakar aiming to uproot Muktibahini.
